ACUTE TRACHEO BRONCHITIS is Acute inflammation of Tracheo bronchial tree caused by various organisms (bacteria and viruses).
Foggy and dusty atmosphere, cold and damp surrounding, chronic mouth breathing and smoking.
Whooping cough, Common cold, Measles, Influenza, etc.
- Irritating cough without expectoration.
- Sometimes mucoid or mucopurulent sputum.
- Fever is not a constant feature and dyspnoea may develop when there is pre-existent chronic bronchitis or disease.
- On examination of the chest, vesicular breath sound, sonorous rhonchi and diffuse crepitations are present over both lung fields.
Bad in extremes of age or when it occurs at the height of some other diseases.
Rest in bed. Steam inhalation and antibiotics are beneficial.
